Anavii Market interviews N.E.R.D. and Pharrell guitarist Brent Paschke on taking CBD for the first time.
Brent is a guitarist, producer, songwriter, and educator based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known as Pharrell Williams’ guitarist, having worked with the singer/songwriter/producer since 2001. Brent has also worked with Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, New Kids on the Block, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Brown, and many other artists.
Brent also co-founded Tuniversity, a company dedicated to reinvigorating music education using multimedia technology and the excitement of today’s pop music.
How do you see hemp and CBD helping the people around you?
It seems pretty clear to me and in my own experience that products that are natural as opposed to pharmaceuticals come with little to no side effects giving the person a much safer option to treat the many things that can be treated with CBD products. Things such as pharmaceutical sleeping pills could be a fatal risk to parents with young children. Pharmaceutical anti-anxiety or depression medicine can be even riskier. CBD gives people a safe alternative.
What are some of your favorite uses of CBD and hemp?
This was my first time trying CBD for sleep and it was evident how well it works. I know this because I use a sleep tracker on my phone with my Apple Watch every night. All my sleep stats improved when taking CBD before bed. This is great for someone like me who has a hard time sleeping and is also sensitive to prescription medication.
Any projects you're currently working on?
Right now I’m working mostly on music education with an emphasis on foundational techniques for rhythm guitar. I have a passion for finding fun ways to introduce a younger audience to music.
What do you see for the future of hemp and CBD?
I feel that we’ve arrived at the place where the data can not be denied for the use of hemp and CDB. I’ve seen the acceptance of this in the older generations that have held a negative view of the product based on early propaganda. But the proof is in on how well it works. I think more and more we will start seeing safe alternatives for things such as depression, anxiety, and sleep problems that are very difficult issues for many people.
Any advice you'd like to give our readers?
There are safe alternatives for many things that all people at one point or another struggle with. Things such as depression and anxiety especially in these times can be very difficult. CBD is a natural alternative that is non-addictive and safe to keep around the house as opposed to prescription medication. That alone is worth the price of admission!
